Thanking The Military Personnels.
How can we forget the military men on Thanksgiving? Thanksgiving is the best day to pay a tribute to their contributions. Barbara Cubin, U.S. Congresswoman, criticized the protesters who harassed the family members of military men and women who died while serving their nation. She firmly commented, The men and women who put on uniforms for Americas military deserve our up most respect and Those who perish while protecting Americas freedom should be honored with nothing less than dignity and reverence. She further added, Unfortunately, there are groups in America who have the audacity to torment the families of fallen service men and women with inappropriate, malicious, and hateful protesting during their funerals...This type of protesting has no place in our society, and it will not be tolerated.
Let's not forget that we get a peaceful sleep at the end of the day just because, we are sure that military people are guarding the borders of the nation from foreign attacks. Hundreds of people thank the military men and women for the services they provide to us on Thanksgiving. Common men send on line messages of love and support to military people. They are really worried about the safety of those people who look after our safety. One of them truly said, Because of you I don't have to worry about family members or neighbors being dragged out of their beds or homes to be tortured or kill. Most of the people are not bothered with what military personnels are doing for us. But we should not let the opportunity [of thanking them] go out of our hands .Just think about them at least once in a year on Thanksgiving.
It's really good to see hundreds of on line messages of support for military men. Some thank them for the freedom they provide to common men to enjoy their lives throughout the year. You are never forgotten because I know that freedom is not free. ,Cindy Webber, Firestone CO. Others offer prayers for their good health.
We are really lucky to have some generous people who agreed to sacrifice their lives for us. I want to say a huge, "THANK YOU" for all that you are doing... Thank you for your part in making the world a better place for my kids to grow up in. We have and will continue to keep you all in our family's prayers. -The Elzers Danny Elzer, Gilbert, Ariz. It is true that military people make our world a better place. At this juncture, we should not forget the sacrifices of the family members of military
personnels. You might be having a habit of spending the evening with your husband. Just remember that the wives of military men hardly get a chance to meet their husbands. We would have not enjoyed the freedom without the support of these wives and mothers. They have to look after their families and children and even if they fall sick they cannot expect their husbands or sons to come home and nurse them. Military people are for the nation and not for the family. This may sound familiar but it is not easy to live a hard life devoid of family and relatives. But, families always try to comfort them with their love messages. As a military spouse, I would like to thank you for all of the sacrifices you are making within your lives so others may live their's. I know it's hard. When some days seem longer than others, know that you are thought of and cared for by not only those closest to you, but also by strangers that you will never meet. You are dear to many, and we are proud of all of you. May God keep you. Miranda Ansari, Johnson City, Tenn.
It has become a nice custom that President Bush gives out speech on Thanksgiving. The last memorable one was from Baghdad in 2003, Thank you. I was just looking for a warm meal somewhere...I can't think of a finer group of folks to have Thanksgiving dinner with than you all...I bring a message on behalf of America: we thank you for your service, we're proud of you, and America stands solidly behind you. People really talk a lot about 2003 dinner as Bush himself served smashed potatoes to the military personnels.
We always argue that battles are not fought for the interests of society and common people. But, a fighting man definitely requires a belief, a sense of responsibility based on an understanding why struggle is essential. This is makes the military people realize that they are doing something more than mere duty. Irving Berlin explains that it is important that men believe in the principles they are doing and understand the enemy as a threat to those principles. They believe in duty, honor, and country. But, it has to be admitted that military men and coastguards always fight with bad weather and weapons to make our life free and peaceful. Whether we have wars or not, they are always at their works. We get their help even when we are the victims of storms, earthquakes and other natural calamities. So, even if we believe that we don't need wars, then also we need military men to serve us during emergency crisis.
Someone has rightly said,
Because of you I can worship God the way I chose.
Because of you I have the right to vote for whoever I think is the best candidate.
Because of you, we are still free!
Thank you all!
